Pianist Steve Rudolph shows off his composing chops as the HSO gives the world premiere of a new orchestral piece by the local music legend. Cellist Zuill Bailey, praised for his “virtuoso technique, strong, richly expressive tone and bold, individual manner of playing” (Gramophone Magazine), makes his HSO debut performing the Dvorak concerto. Stuart Malina also conducts the sunny and cheerful 4th Symphony of Beethoven.
